WHAT TO DO IN CUENCA

1. Las Casas Colgadas

A series of buildings that have their balconies protruding or hanging over the gorge of the Huécar River.

2. Plaza Mayor

The colorful Plaza Mayor is the nerve center of the city. It is a perfect point to have a drink on one of its terraces and start a walking route through the city.

3. Miradores de Cuenca

Four viewpoints with spectacular views: Mirador Florencio Cañas, Mirador del Castillo, Mirador Hoz del Júcar and Mirador del Rey.

4. Catedral de Cuenca

The Cathedral of Santa María and San Julián, located in the Plaza Mayor, is the most important religious temple to visit in Cuenca. It was built in 1177 by order of King Alfonso VIII on an arab mosque

5. La Ciudad Encantada

In this incredible landscape you can see amazing rock formations that originated millions of years ago due to the erosion of water and wind, turning this place into one of the natural wonders.

6. Puente de San Pablo

The San Pablo Bridge is the best point to take the most typical photo of the Hanged Houses. This bridge built of iron and wood in 1902 replaced another old stone bridge from the 16th Century, which collapsed.

7. Torre de Mangana

The Mangana Tower, 28 meters high and located in the square of the same name, its origin is not known precisely. This tower could have been part of the old Alcázar of Cuenca that was located in this same square.

8. Rascacielos del Barrio de San Martín

In the San Martín neighborhood, one of the oldest to visit in Cuenca, you will find some narrow high-rise houses that are popularly known as skyscrapers.

9. Paseo del Huécar

Have a pleasant walk at sunset along the banks of the Huécar River. During the walk you will have views of the Hanging Houses and the San Martín Skyscrapers, in addition to enjoying a natural environment while hearing the traffic of the river.
